Hi James, I don't remember Morey actually composing for Doom or Strife, though I could be wrong. I certainly remember Spectre and another project called JetSki. He did them for Velocity, which was started by an old friend of mine, Moses Ma, whom I met in L.A. in 1975 when he was at Cal Tech. I am a singer, Morey a musician, composer, and arranger; we were married and did a lot of projects together. Moses hired Morey to do music and sound effects for the Velocity games, and I did voices and singing, when that was called for, on a freelance basis. We both really enjoyed our experiences with Velocity. I'm sure Morey would have been very pleased to see that people are interested in the games. I personally never met any of the voice acting crew you mentioned, and I doubt that Morey did. I suggest you contact Moses Ma for more information. Good luck with your quest, Katie Guthorn Hi James, I'm Moses, the former founder and CEO of Velocity. Yes, Morey Goldstein was the lead musician and sound effects artist for the game, and he is the same person as you mention. Here's his obit: http://articles.sfgate.com/2008-07-13/news/17173411_1_musical-zasu-pitts-memoria l-orchestra-cbs-records Morey will always have a special place in my heart, he was an amazing, beautiful human being. One story you can include: when his hit band The Readymades hit their zenith, providing him with his allotted 15 minutes of fame... the opening act was Sting and the Police in their first US appearance. The other story is that we did this very crazy take off song called "Don't Copy That Floppy" for the Software Publishers Association about 20 years ago, that became something of a viral hit. I wrote the lyrics and Morey wrote the music and did the singing. You might be able to track it down somewhere on the web. Unfortunately, I don't know how to contact the Strife developers... this was three lifetimes ago, in Internet (dog) years. Hope this helps! Moses PS to Katie, love you forever... Hi James, Any more personal/bio/education info you need, I can probably furnish. Morey and Ken Kessie produced the last recordings of disco great Sylvester. Katie
